Altars & Ancestors: Rituals of Remembrance Around the World

Facilitated by Rickie Redman

Throughout history, every culture has found unique, meaningful, and often deeply creative ways to honor their dead. From vibrant Día de los Muertos altars in Mexico, to the moving keening songs of Ireland, to Ghana’s colorful “fantasy coffins,” these rituals are expressions of love, memory, and connection that bridge generations.

Join Rickie Redman, end-of-life practitioner, for an inspiring presentation that explores these rich traditions and the universal human need to remember. Together we’ll reflect on:

    • How different cultures use creativity—art, music, ritual—to honor those who have passed.
    • The surprising similarities and shared wisdom across diverse traditions.
    • Ways we can bring meaning into our own lives and family practices.

This program is designed for lifelong learners who are curious about culture, history, and creative approaches to aging, memory, and legacy.

Come with an open heart and a curious mind—leave with fresh inspiration for how we honor, remember, and continue the story of those we love.
